The inaugural Malaysian Week will be held for the very first time in Melbourne from 27th September to 10th October. It is a showcase of events that promotes Malaysia through the arts, culture, food, tourism and trade. Here is the list of events:

Fiesta Malaysia
A day to celebrate Malaysia’s rich and vibrant heritage culture.
When: 27th of September, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Queensbridge Square, Southbank
Admission: Free
Highlights:
- performances such as the exotic dance and music of Borneo,
- opportunities to try cultural costumes,
- participate in traditional games, and a
- showcase of Malaysian cuisine from some of the best Malaysian restaurants in Melbourne.

Australian Malaysian Film Festival
Returning for the third time in Melbourne, some of Malaysia’s best and latest movies will be screened to highlight unity within diversity. In addition, a batik exhibition will run alongside the film festival.
When: 4th to 7th October
Where: Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI), Federation Square
Movies showing:
- Muallaf & Talentime (films by award winning Yasmin Ahmad),
- Geng the Movie (Malaysia’s first animated feature film), and
- Cicakman 2 (a superhero action movie)
